Compassionate end-of-life support
When a loved one is nearing the end of life, families want the same things: that they’re comfortable, free from pain, never alone and treated with dignity. At Collin County Assisted Living, residents can receive hospice care right here in our home in Anna, TX — so they can spend their final months, weeks and days in a peaceful, familiar place.
How hospice works in our home
Hospice is a type of care focused on comfort rather than cure. When your loved one’s physician determines they qualify, your family chooses a licensed hospice agency. That agency’s team — nurses, aides, social workers and chaplains — visits regularly to manage symptoms, provide medical equipment and supplies, and support the family.
Our caregivers are with your loved one every hour in between. We work closely with the hospice team, follow the comfort-care plan and let them know right away about changes, so your loved one receives consistent, coordinated care.
Our role in hospice support
- Around-the-clock personal care, repositioning and comfort measures
- Close coordination with your hospice nurse and team
- Attention to pain, restlessness and changes in breathing or appetite — reported promptly
- Gentle bathing, mouth care and skin care to keep your loved one comfortable
- A calm, quiet room with familiar belongings, music or faith traditions you request
- A welcoming space for family to visit and stay close
- Emotional support and honest communication with your family

Staying in a place they know
One of the greatest gifts at the end of life is not having to move. If your loved one already lives with us, hospice care can come to them, and they can remain with the caregivers they trust. If your loved one is in a hospital or living at home and needs a peaceful place for end-of-life care, please call — we’ll talk with you about whether our home is the right fit.
Caring for your family, too
This is a tender, difficult time. We welcome you to visit whenever you can, sit with your loved one, and share stories, prayers and music. We’ll keep you informed, answer your questions plainly, and do everything we can to make these days peaceful for your whole family.
Hospice support questions
Can my loved one receive hospice care while living here?
Yes. Residents can receive hospice services in our home. Your family chooses a licensed hospice agency, and their nurses, aides, social workers and chaplains visit and work alongside our caregivers, who are with your loved one every day.
Will my loved one have to move if their health declines?
Our goal is for residents to remain in a familiar, loving place as their needs change. With hospice support coming into the home, many residents are able to stay with us through the end of life. We’ll always have an honest conversation with you about what’s best and safest.
Can family stay with their loved one at the end of life?
Yes. We welcome family to spend as much time as they wish with their loved one during the final days, and we do our best to provide a peaceful, private space for those moments.
