About our home

What is a residential assisted living home?

A residential assisted living home is a real house in a neighborhood — not a large apartment-style building — where a small group of seniors live together and receive help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, medications and meals. Because there are only a few residents, caregivers have more time for each person, and the setting feels like home.

Where is Collin County Assisted Living located?

Our home is at 1004 Chatsworth Dr in Anna, Texas 75409, in north Collin County. Families visit us from Anna, Melissa, Van Alstyne, McKinney, Princeton, Sherman and the surrounding communities.

What makes a small home different from a large assisted living community?

In a small home, your loved one is known by name, routines are flexible, and the same familiar caregivers are there day after day. Large communities offer more amenities and activities, while a residential home offers a quieter, more personal setting with more one-on-one attention — which many seniors, especially those with memory loss, find easier to adjust to.

Can we visit our loved one anytime?

Family is always welcome. We encourage regular visits, phone calls and video chats, and we’re happy to arrange a quiet space for birthdays and holidays. We simply ask that visits respect residents’ rest times and privacy.

Can my loved one bring their own furniture and belongings?

Yes. We encourage residents to bring favorite photos, a comfortable chair, bedding and keepsakes. Familiar belongings make a room feel like home and ease the transition — especially for someone living with dementia.

Care and daily life

What help do residents receive each day?

Care is personalized, but most residents receive help with some combination of bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility and transfers, medication assistance, meals and housekeeping. We also make time for conversation, activities and simple joys like sitting on the porch.

Do you help with medications?

Yes. Our caregivers provide medication assistance and reminders according to each resident’s care plan and their physician’s orders, and we coordinate with families and pharmacies so prescriptions stay on track.

What are meals like?

Meals are home-cooked and served family-style at the dining table, so residents enjoy food and company together. We do our best to accommodate dietary needs and personal favorites — just tell us what your loved one enjoys.

Is someone there overnight?

Yes. Caregivers are on-site around the clock, so residents have help available day and night — including at bedtime and during the early-morning hours when many falls happen.

How do you keep families updated?

We keep families in the loop with regular updates and call you right away about any change in health or a fall. You’re always welcome to call and ask how your loved one is doing.

Memory care

When is it time for memory care?

It may be time when your loved one is wandering or getting lost, missing meals or medications, becoming anxious or agitated in the evening, or when caring for them at home has become unsafe or exhausting for you. A conversation with their doctor and a visit to our home can help you decide.

Why is a small home good for someone with dementia?

Large, busy buildings can be confusing and overwhelming. A small home offers a calm, predictable routine, fewer unfamiliar faces and caregivers who learn each person’s history, habits and triggers — which can reduce anxiety and agitation.

How do you handle wandering and sundowning?

We focus on prevention: a consistent daily rhythm, plenty of daytime activity, a calm evening routine, a secure home, and caregivers trained to gently redirect rather than argue. We also learn what comforts each resident — a favorite song, a snack, a familiar task.

Hospice support

Can my loved one receive hospice care while living here?

Yes. Residents can receive hospice services in our home. Your family chooses a licensed hospice agency, and their nurses, aides, social workers and chaplains visit and work alongside our caregivers, who are with your loved one every day.

Will my loved one have to move if their health declines?

Our goal is for residents to remain in a familiar, loving place as their needs change. With hospice support coming into the home, many residents are able to stay with us through the end of life. We’ll always have an honest conversation with you about what’s best and safest.

Can family stay with their loved one at the end of life?

Yes. We welcome family to spend as much time as they wish with their loved one during the final days, and we do our best to provide a peaceful, private space for those moments.

Cost and getting started

How much does assisted living cost in Anna, TX?

Every resident’s needs are different, so our pricing is based on the level of care your loved one needs. Please call us at (972) 693-1646 for current pricing — we’ll give you a clear, honest answer and explain exactly what’s included.

What payment options do families use?

Most families pay privately, and many combine savings, income, the sale of a home, or long-term care insurance. Veterans and surviving spouses may also qualify for benefits. Call us and we’ll talk through what may apply to your situation.

How do we get started?
